Senior Security Architect (Cloud)

TL;DR

Senior Security Architect (Cloud): Designing and implementing cloud security strategies and policies for mission-critical federal law enforcement projects with an accent on zero-trust architecture, FedRAMP compliance, and risk mitigation. Focus on building secure cloud adoption standards, performing Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), and integrating complex security controls across AWS, Azure, and OCI environments.

Location: Hybrid (2 days per week on site in Washington, DC)

What you will do

• Develop, design, and implement cloud security strategies, policies, and best practices.
• Identify security risks, assess attack vectors, and specify tools needed to respond to threats and breaches.
• Establish strategic security architecture direction for cloud service adoption aligned with business strategy.
• Build solutions for identity and access management, encryption (PKI, SSH), auditing, logging, and continuous monitoring.
• Perform Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) on product and strategy options for government leadership.
• Provide guidance on critical initiatives including Zero Trust, control automation, and authentication enhancements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing and deploying complex Cybersecurity solutions, networking, and endpoint security in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience with IT cloud solutions and FedRAMP (Azure, AWS, Oracle OCI).
• Deep knowledge of NIST publications (e.g., SP 800-53r5, SP 800-18r1) and zero-trust security architecture.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) clearance.
• CISSP certification is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Splunk.
• Experience implementing NIST 800-53 controls for cloud systems and preparing Authority to Operate (ATO) packages.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Additional certifications: CISSP-ISSAP, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or SANS.
