Cloud Security Engineer (AWS)

TL;DR

Cloud Security Engineer (AWS/Cloudflare): Securing and evolving the cloud and edge estate with an accent on cloud security posture management, IAM, and WAF tuning. Focus on developing detections in SIEM, leading incident response, and ensuring compliance with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.

Location: Hybrid (Leicestershire or London, UK). Fully remote working is not available

What you will do

• Review and triage security findings and drive remediation across engineering squads and third parties.
• Own Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tooling, including policy tuning and visibility across the business.
• Secure the AWS estate across IAM, network controls, encryption, and logging, implementing guardrails and secure landing zones.
• Manage Cloudflare edge security, including WAF rule authoring, rate limiting, and bot management.
• Lead detection and response for cloud and edge incidents and develop detections within the SIEM.
• Ensure technical compliance with UK GDPR, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and Cyber Essentials Plus.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Cloud Security Engineer with the ability to operate independently.
• Hands-on proficiency with AWS, Cloudflare, Tenable, and SIEM tools.
• Proven experience working with frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and Cyber Essentials Plus.
• Experience leading incident response for threats like credential stuffing, IAM compromise, and exposed assets.
• Strong working knowledge of Cloudflare Enterprise, specifically WAF and Bot Management.
• Must be based in the UK and able to work hybrid from Leicestershire or London offices.
