QA Engineer (Backend)

What you will do

• Perform deep manual testing of backend systems, ETL pipelines, and integrations.
• Validate data correctness using SQL across services, APIs, and storage layers.
• Design and maintain test cases and testing strategies for complex workflows.
• Investigate issues across the stack by analyzing logs, databases, and APIs.
• Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to ensure system reliability.
• Contribute to the improvement of QA processes and overall testing coverage.

Requirements

• Strong experience in manual QA of backend or data-heavy systems.
• Solid SQL skills for data validation and debugging.
• Ability to reason about data flows, edge cases, and system behavior.
• Understanding of APIs, databases, and debugging tools.
• Comfortable working with logs and basic scripting (bash/zsh).
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with ETL pipelines or data platforms.
• Some automation experience.
• Python for testing and/or data validation.
• Mobile testing (iOS/Android).
• Familiarity with Jira, Git, Allure and test management tools.
