What you will do

• Develop new theory and methodology for copula-based statistical dependence models.
• Research conditional copulas and conditional dependence models to quantify influences between random variables.
• Develop a theory of information geometry for copulas to analyze probability measures.
• Integrate discrete random variables into Pair-Copula Bayesian Networks (PCBNs) and create structure learning algorithms.
• Collaborate within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science to advance the state of the art in applied mathematics.

Requirements

• MSc degree in Mathematical Statistics or an equivalent field.
• Proficiency in programming with R; experience with C++ is a plus.
• High-level mathematical skills and a strong interest in inventing new models and theories.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
• Availability to relocate to the Netherlands.
