What you will do

• Develop and adapt continuum-based two-phase models for particle transport and fluid-soil interaction.
• Utilize DNS-DEM simulation data to derive constitutive relations for particle-fluid interactions.
• Implement adaptive mesh strategies to balance computational efficiency with high-resolution requirements.
• Develop reduced one-dimensional two-phase pipe element models for coupling with RFEM studies.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of geotechnical, computational, and fluid dynamics experts.
• Publish research findings in key international journals and participate in academic conferences.

Requirements

• MSc degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Ocean Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in fluid mechanics, CFD, and scientific programming.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary consortium.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• English proficiency required for scientific communication and thesis writing.
• Affinity with teaching and guiding MSc students.
