What you will do

• Define a specific problem statement and research questions within the theme of just and inclusive urban mobility.
• Conduct mixed-methods and participatory research, including fieldwork and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop practical strategies for planners, designers, and policymakers to support mobility transitions.
• Contribute to academic debates on spatial accessibility and mobility justice.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team within the Urban Studies section.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in spatial planning, urban planning, urban studies, transport studies, human geography, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Dutch (CEFR B2 level or higher) for participatory research.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (TOEFL/IELTS required where applicable).
• Experience with or interest in mixed-methods, participatory research, and community engagement.
• Ability to work independently, proactively, and creatively.
• Availability to start during 2026.
