TL;DR

Lead Software Engineer (IoT): Architecting and delivering scalable backend systems for a connected device ecosystem with an accent on real-time communication, state synchronization, and cross-platform interoperability. Focus on defining engineering standards, guiding technical decisions, and bridging hardware, cloud, and mobile experiences through secure backend engineering.

Location: Must be based in the Philippines

What you will do

  • Own the end-to-end architecture of the IoT backend platform, including device provisioning and telemetry ingestion.
  • Define and enforce engineering standards for backend development, API design, and observability.
  • Lead technical design reviews and make final decisions on system architecture.
  • Design and develop high-performance backend services using C#.
  • Collaborate with Product, Mobile, and Firmware teams to align system design with cross-functional requirements.
  • Mentor team members and provide technical guidance to improve output quality.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of backend development experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or architecture role.
  • Proven, hands-on experience designing and shipping a connected device platform.
  • Strong command of C# and .NET Core.
  • Production-grade experience with PostgreSQL and event-driven messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Must be based in the Philippines.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Azure IoT services or AWS IoT Core.
  • Hands-on experience with the Matter protocol.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Bicep.
  • Background in edge computing patterns and Redis Streams.
