What you will do

• Identify and mitigate export control risks (EAR, ITAR, EU Dual Use) related to R&D activities, technologies, and data flows.
• Perform information security risk assessments and architectural design reviews for new R&D initiatives.
• Coordinate security and compliance incidents involving export-controlled technology.
• Collaborate with Legal, IT, and R&D leadership to embed security and export obligations into operational processes.
• Drive export compliance improvement programs and define capability roadmaps.
• Represent R&D in global security initiatives, providing a US-centric perspective.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Law, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• 8+ years of proven experience in security risk management.
• Experience with export compliance (EAR, ITAR) strongly preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology as defined by US Export Administration Regulations.
• Must be based in San Jose, CA to attend in-person events, trainings, and meetings.

Nice to have

• Experience in AI, Cloud, and/or DevOps security.
