TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer - Android (Android/C++/Automotive): Developing high-level, customer-specific speech dialog interfaces and Android framework configurations for automotive assistants with an accent on Android native interfaces and AOSP. Focus on optimizing latency, memory, and CPU consumption on target platforms while implementing complex AIDL descriptions.

Location: Hybrid position in Aachen, Germany

What you will do

  • Analyze product requirements and collaborate with R&D to define framework configurations and setup.
  • Implement high-level, customer-specific speech dialog interfaces using Android infrastructure and AIDL description.
  • Develop dependencies for Android native interfaces and cloud-based components for speech-controlled applications.
  • Perform memory and CPU measurements to improve latency and consumption on target platforms.
  • Collaborate with project teams on the localization and reproduction of defects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional work experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Android, Java, Kotlin, and C/C++.
  • Detailed understanding of Android architecture (AIDL, Binder, Lifecycle, System Services, AOSP).
  • Experience with Python scripting language.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and German.
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid setup in Aachen, Germany.

Nice to have

  • Experience with speech recognition or related technologies.
  • Knowledge of ASPICE and Agile (SCRUM) methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Google Test, Jest, Git/GitLab, and Artifactory.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence).
