Salary: $210,000 - $260,000 annually

What you will do

• Own and evolve REST API standards, including versioning, backward compatibility, and OpenAPI specifications.
• Design and ship stable API endpoints for search, knowledge graph, chat, and agent primitives.
• Build and maintain the API gateway layer, including routing, authentication, rate limiting, and usage metering.
• Develop and evolve SDKs and client libraries to facilitate seamless integration for internal teams and external partners.
• Instrument API usage to monitor adoption metrics, error patterns, and latency SLOs.
• Champion the external developer perspective by integrating customer feedback into the platform roadmap.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry software engineering experience with a focus on public-facing APIs or developer platforms.
• Deep fluency in REST API design principles, including versioning, error semantics, and OpenAPI/JSON Schema.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Golang preferred; TypeScript, Python, or Java are pluses).
• Must be able to work in a hybrid model (4 days/week) in Mountain View, CA.
• Strong collaborative skills and a proactive attitude toward troubleshooting and taking ownership of features.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
