What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy quality solutions to help customers interface with the RDS service at scale via APIs and graphical interfaces.
• Lead the architecture and design of new and current systems, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Support the development of Compute, Database, Storage, and Platform services within the AWS Utility Computing organization.
• Mentor other engineers and lead engineering teams to raise the performance bar.

Requirements

• Professional experience in software development (non-internship).
• Proven experience leading system architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience acting as a mentor or tech lead for engineering teams.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, and operations.
