What you will do

  • Design, develop, and deploy solutions for the AWS Relational Database Service.
  • Build customer-facing and internal interfaces through APIs and graphical interfaces.
  • Contribute to systems that automate database provisioning, scaling, failover, and monitoring.
  • Lead architecture and design decisions for reliable, scalable systems.
  • Mentor engineers or lead engineering teams within the RDS organization.

Requirements

  • Professional, non-internship software development experience.
  • Experience leading architecture and design for new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
  • Programming experience in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
