We're hiring a technical anchor for quality on one of our teams.
Not a QA manager, not someone who builds a separate QA department. The engineers here own their quality, we need someone who sits inside that model and raises the bar from within.
Hands-on testing of complex flows, writing test cases that devs automate, reviewing what they ship back, and being the person the team actually listens to on stability and risk.
Roughly 50/50 hands-on and player-coach, with a bias toward hands-on. Middle QA to mentor through real shared work, no formal 1:1s.
What you'll do:
🔹 Hands-on testing of complex crypto and fintech flows: transactions, swaps, asset custody, KYC, on/off-ramps
🔹 Write detailed test cases, review developers' automated implementations, use the resulting suite in daily QA work
🔹 Establish QA standards and metrics (defect rate, escape rate, CFR/LT, stakeholder reporting)
🔹 Own production stability: Sentry, Firebase, Grafana, incident response, post-mortems
🔹 Mentor Middle QA through hands-on collaboration
Must-have:
✅ Excellent manual testing across mobile and API
✅ Hands-on experience with the collaborative automation model (writing test cases, reviewing dev implementations)
✅ Solid understanding of performance and load testing principles
✅ Experience with QA metrics and stakeholder reporting
✅ Mentoring experience: 1–2 QA engineers over 6+ months
✅ React Native ecosystem: Detox, Maestro, Flipper, Reactotron
✅ AI-assisted testing tooling: Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini
Stack:
Postman, Charles, Swagger, Sentry, Grafana, Firebase, Android Studio, TestFlight, Qase / TestRail, SQL, Git
Nice-to-have:
➕ Xcode (iOS build inspection, simulators, log capture)
➕ Security testing for crypto products: key management, signing flows
➕ Load testing: k6, JMeter, Locust
➕ KYC/AML systems experience
