What you will do

• Design, develop, and refactor backend services to maintain high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with platform teams to deliver scalable and high-throughput solutions.
• Work autonomously on complex tasks while continuously growing Scala expertise.
• Optimize platform performance to handle nearly a billion transactions per day.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to system architecture improvements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in server-side development with Scala or Java.
• Strong understanding of JVM, data structures, algorithms, and concurrent programming.
• Experience or strong interest in Akka/Pekko frameworks (HTTP, Actors, Streams).
• Ability to build high-scale, distributed systems with complex integrations.
• Clear and effective communication skills in English.
• Engineering mindset with a focus on ownership and continuous learning.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in the iGaming domain.
• Familiarity with Couchbase, AWS (S3, DynamoDB), and Play JSON.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker, Nomad, or Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with ScalaTest and Typesafe Config.
