TL;DR

Control & Automation Engineer (PLC): Developing, maintaining, and commissioning PLC software and hardware for ground equipment at a launch facility with an accent on safety-critical electrical systems and automation levels. Focus on programming Beckhoff TwinCAT 3/CODESYS systems, performing risk analyses, and supporting test and launch campaigns.

Location: Andenes, Nordland, Norway. Relocation support is provided.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and improve PLC software for ground equipment.
• Design PLC hardware setups and PLC-related networks.
• Upgrade and adapt systems to increase automation levels and operational efficiency.
• Perform risk analyses and design safety-critical electrical systems.
• Support test and launch campaigns through troubleshooting and check-outs.
• Collaborate with local operations and the Control Systems team in Germany.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or equivalent certification.
• 2+ years of experience in automation and PLC technology, preferably using Beckhoff.
• Proficiency in PLC programming with Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 or CODESYS.
• Knowledge of fieldbus systems, electrical schematics, and sensor signals.
• Fluency in English; Class B driver’s license.
• Physical dexterity for working in confined spaces and ability to lift 25kg.

Nice to have

• Experience with functional safety system design and implementation.
• Experience in testing environments or commissioning of new facilities.
• Basic understanding of fluid systems.
• Knowledge of Norwegian or German languages.
