TL;DR

Technical Artist (Regular/Senior) (Gamedev): Act as primary contact for diagnosing and resolving art pipeline and content issues, lead implementation of key tech-art features with an accent on workflows, tools, and engine integration. Focus on verifying engine content, optimizing assets, materials, shaders, lighting, VFX, and collaborating with programmers to translate art needs into solutions.

What you will do

  • Diagnose and resolve art pipeline and content issues as primary contact.
  • Lead implementation of key tech-art features and improve workflows, tools, and pipelines.
  • Implement, debug, and optimize content directly in the engine.
  • Verify engine content including assets, materials, shaders, lighting, and VFX.
  • Collaborate with programmers to communicate art needs and propose solutions for bottlenecks.
  • Define and maintain best practices for content creation, validation, optimization, and integration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Technical Artist in game development.
  • Good knowledge of C++ or similar from a technical art perspective.
  • Solid debugging, troubleshooting, profiling skills using VisualStudio, PIX/RenderDoc, engine tools.
  • Self-driven, flexible in fast-changing production environment.
  • High-level understanding of scene rendering pipeline.
  • Good understanding of real-time art pipelines, asset integration, materials, shaders, lighting, optimization.
  • Good interdepartmental communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience developing custom tools and scripts for art workflows.
  • Graphics programming and HLSL shader development.
  • Creating tools or pipeline improvements for artists.
  • Scripting languages such as Python, Blueprint.
  • Familiarity with DCC tools and content pipelines.
