Fullstack Developer (Backend Emphasis)

TL;DR

Fullstack Developer (Java/.NET): Designing and maintaining mission-critical backend services for a command and control system with an accent on backend architecture, service reliability, and cloud-native patterns. Focus on implementing microservices in AWS GovCloud, securing RESTful APIs, and optimizing data models.

Location: Hybrid (Scott AFB, IL). Must be based in the St. Louis area

Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 a year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and deploy backend features using Java and .NET within AWS GovCloud.
• Lead the development of RESTful services, API endpoints, and backend integration patterns.
• Architect microservices, serverless functions, and containerized workloads using AWS Lambda, ECS, EKS, and Fargate.
• Build and optimize data models, SQL queries, and relational database operations.
• Integrate backend services into DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines with automated builds and security scans.
• Mentor junior team members in API design and secure coding patterns.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional development experience, with at least 3 years focused on Java.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government Secret security clearance.
• Ability to obtain Security+ certification.
• Experience deploying and managing services in AWS (Lambda, ECS, ECR, RDS, S3, IAM).
• Strong proficiency in REST API design and microservices architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Prior experience working within the DoD or federal government environments.
• Proficiency with Spring Boot, .NET Core, and relational database design.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration patterns.
• Linux administration and scripting skills (Python, Bash).
• Experience with CI/CD tooling like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
