Flight Software Architect (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Define and evolve the Flight Software (FSW) architecture, technical roadmap, and product policy to streamline development across projects.
• Act as Software Subsystem Lead for selected projects, owning the software design and system specifications.
• Lead project software teams and coordinate activities both internally and with external suppliers.
• Support the proposal and estimation process and participate in Make/Buy/Partner strategy definition.
• Perform development and validation of key software components and lead problem resolution sessions.
• Mentor and train the FSW team to ensure technical excellence and the adoption of good practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in embedded software development and verification/validation.
• Experience in standard-driven industries such as ECSS, DO-178, CENELEC EN 50128, or ISO 26262.
• Strong skills in software architecture and requirements-driven development.
• MSc Degree in Software, Electronics, Aerospace, Physics, or a similar field.
• Proven experience in team leadership, mentoring, and project delivery (budget and schedule management).
• Must be based in or able to work from the UK or Luxembourg offices (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time embedded development using C/C++, RTOS, and low-level interfaces.
• Proficiency in verification tooling and automation, including Python and CI pipelines.
• Knowledge of space software contexts, specifically ECSS processes and on-board software constraints.
