Engineering Manager, Foundations (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid in Bucharest, Romania (minimum 2 days in office per week)

What you will do

• Lead a team of experienced engineers designing and scaling foundational security infrastructure.
• Drive the adoption of core security frameworks and libraries to eliminate systemic vulnerabilities company-wide.
• Manage team operations, including process improvement, collaboration, and ensuring high quality of deliverables.
• Coach and mentor engineers through 1:1s, performance reviews, and growth plans.
• Coordinate with InfoSecurity, SRE, and Product Engineering stakeholders for smooth project delivery.
• Handle recruitment, budget allocation, and headcount planning for the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong experience with scalable backend architecture, core infrastructure, or developer tooling.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Scala, or Java.
• Proven track record of managing internal platforms, libraries, or large-scale cross-team projects.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Must be based in or able to work from Bucharest, Romania in a hybrid mode.
