Lead Software Engineer (C++)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days per week) in London, UK. Remote by exception.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, reusable C++ libraries and tooling for game teams.
• Define technical standards, patterns, and best practices for core runtime systems and platform abstractions.
• Manage team delivery by scoping initiatives, assigning tasks, and managing risks and dependencies.
• Mentor and coach engineers through regular 1:1s, technical reviews, and professional development support.
• Collaborate with Design, Production, and QA to align on priorities and deliver high-quality user experiences.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, including performance bottlenecks and cross-platform challenges.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in game development using C++ with multiple shipped titles across various platforms.
• Expert knowledge of modern C++, including memory allocation, concurrency, and data-oriented design.
• Proven ability to build and maintain shared codebases with clear API design and versioning.
• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineers; line management experience is beneficial.
• Solid working familiarity with Unity and C# for effective cross-team collaboration.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid (2-3 days per week) from the London studio.
