TL;DR

Head of Data (Fintech): Leading the execution of the data roadmap and managing a multi-disciplinary team to build the UK's most intelligent mortgage broker with an accent on unified customer views and real-time analytics. Focus on designing domain-aligned data products and ensuring high data quality within an FCA-regulated environment.

Location: Remote (UK), with occasional trips to the London office required

What you will do

• Lead the execution of the data strategy and manage a team of five across analytics engineering, data science, and data engineering.
• Design and implement a single source of truth for critical business entities and establish solid data foundations.
• Develop self-service data products to enable controlled data access across the organization.
• Own data quality and governance to ensure accurate audit trails in an FCA-regulated environment.
• Collaborate with the Salesforce team to own data models and ensure holistic governance.
• Maintain a hands-on approach, working directly with BigQuery, dbt, and data pipelines.

Requirements

• Proven track record of leading data projects in fast-paced environments.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL, BigQuery, and modern data ingestion/transformation patterns.
• Experience with Looker, dbt, and Python.
• Ability to develop Machine Learning models and the required supporting infrastructure.
• Familiarity with modern data architecture and real-time data infrastructure.
• Must be able to travel to the London office occasionally.

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Experience with AI/LLM infrastructure and model evaluations.
• Background in fintech or regulated financial services.
