TL;DR
Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS/Edtech): Improving the resilience and performance of the Arbor platform with an accent on architecture optimization, infrastructure stability, and scaling capabilities. Salary: £70,000 - £80,000

What you will do
- Collaborate with the Head of Platform and Head of SRE to identify and implement infrastructure improvements.
- Enhance system maturity, ensuring High Availability and establishing adequate testing and disaster recovery (DR) plans.
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines and define scalable deployment patterns.
- Lead incident response and resolution, followed by detailed post-mortems and retrospectives.
- Drive knowledge sharing through tech-talks and obsessive documentation of Playbooks and Runbooks.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in DevOps Engineering and operating large-scale platforms.
- Deep expertise in distributed cloud systems, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Cloudformation.
- Understanding of relational database technologies (e.g., AWS Aurora) and distributed asynchronous workloads.
- Experience with nginx, DataDog, and Prometheus.
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship provided).
- English: Good written and spoken proficiency required.
Nice to have
- Experience with enterprise solutions running at scale.
- Familiarity with Kanban and Agile development processes.
- Experience with Docker and containerization.
- Knowledge of software best practices like Refactoring, Clean Code, DDD, and TDD.
