HR Operations Specialist (Maternity Cover): Manage day-to-day HR processes for Bulgaria region including employee lifecycle transactions, compliance, and payroll coordination with an accent on Bulgarian labor regulations, GDPR, and HRIS maintenance. Focus on ensuring accurate data management, seamless onboarding/offboarding, process improvements, and employee support.

Location: Hybrid working options from home and office in Bulgaria

What you will do

  • Maintain employee data in HRIS for Bulgaria and assigned countries, process lifecycle transactions in compliance with local regulations.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, partner with IT, Payroll, and Facilities for seamless employee experience.
  • Ensure compliance with Bulgarian labor law, GDPR, and company policies; manage documentation and support audits.
  • Verify payroll data, oversee time tracking, leave management, and benefits administration with providers.
  • Serve as first point of contact for HR operational questions in English and Bulgarian, escalate complex issues.
  • Identify process gaps, propose improvements, and contribute to global HR playbooks and projects.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Bulgarian and English (written and spoken)
  • 4-7 years in HR operations or administration, ideally multinational.
  • Knowledge of Bulgarian employment legislation and HR compliance.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (Workday, HiBob, BambooHR, SAP SuccessFactors).
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong communication across cultures.

Nice to have

  • Experience in tech or SaaS industry.
  • Multi-country payroll or benefits administration.
  • Process improvement or HR project management.
