TL;DR

Location: Must be located in Portugal (Hybrid: Coimbra, Aveiro, and Porto)

Compensation: €55,000 - €65,000 / year

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable microservices and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build services supporting high-volume data ingestion, processing, and access.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to support data pipelines.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Modernize the platform by replacing legacy components with scalable cloud-native services.
• Deploy and manage services in containerized environments using Kubernetes and Helm.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering or data-focused development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for microservices.
• Solid understanding of SQL, relational database design, and performance tuning.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience deploying applications via Kubernetes and Helm charts.
• Must be located in Portugal.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with Snowflake and dbt.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code.
• Knowledge of messaging or event streaming tools such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
