TL;DR
Senior Software Developer (Java/Spring Boot): Building high-performance, scalable microservices and data-driven backend services with an accent on high-volume data ingestion, processing, and SQL optimization. Focus on modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native architectures using Kubernetes and Helm.
Location: Must be located in Portugal (Hybrid: Coimbra, Aveiro, and Porto)
Compensation: €55,000 - €65,000 / year

What you will do
- Design and develop scalable microservices and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build services supporting high-volume data ingestion, processing, and access.
- Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to support data pipelines.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Modernize the platform by replacing legacy components with scalable cloud-native services.
- Deploy and manage services in containerized environments using Kubernetes and Helm.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering or data-focused development.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for microservices.
- Solid understanding of SQL, relational database design, and performance tuning.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience deploying applications via Kubernetes and Helm charts.
- Must be located in Portugal.
Nice to have
- Practical experience with Snowflake and dbt.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code.
- Knowledge of messaging or event streaming tools such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
