What you will do

• Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL on bare-metal servers.
• Optimize databases supporting OLAP/analytical workloads, including schema, indexing, and partitioning.
• Build and maintain database monitoring, alerting, and performance dashboards.
• Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks across database, OS, storage, and hardware layers.
• Design infrastructure for maximum database performance, including storage and server configuration choices.
• Establish best practices for database operation, maintenance, backup, recovery, and capacity planning.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and performance tuning in self-managed or bare-metal environments.
• Experience operating PostgreSQL outside of cloud-managed services.
• Strong understanding of OLAP systems and analytical workload optimization.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve bottlenecks across queries, indexing, memory, CPU, disk, and I/O.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-level performance optimization, including NVMe SSDs and server tuning.
• Must be based in or able to work full-time from the Taipei office
