VMware ICT Engineer (Nutanix)

TL;DR

VMware ICT Engineer (Nutanix): Administration and operation of VMware vSphere environments with an accent on monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and virtual machine lifecycle management. Focus on backup/recovery support, patch management, incident resolution, and post-training implementation of Nutanix cloud infrastructures including AOS, AHV, Prism, and automation scripting.

Location: Kosice, Slovakia. Remote working possible only within Slovakia due to taxation regulations.

Salary: Base from €1300 brutto (negotiable based on experience) + variable part and financial benefits.

What you will do

• Administer and operate VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Manage virtual machine lifecycle: provisioning, maintenance, decommissioning.
• Handle backup/recovery (Veeam), patch management, upgrades, and 2nd/3rd level incident resolution.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams on virtualization and datacenter projects.
• After Nutanix training: implement/administer Nutanix (AOS, AHV, Prism), migrations, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform), and automation of workflows.
• Plan/design complex systems, ensure service levels, create documentation, and support decision papers.

Requirements

• English: Upper Intermediate (B2) with strong communication skills
• Master’s/diploma + 5+ years professional experience (min 3 years IT administration)
• Strong hands-on with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), virtualization concepts, datacenter operations
• Experience with storage (SAN/NAS), networking basics (VLANs, routing, firewalls), backup solutions (Veeam/Commvault)
• Windows/Linux environments, troubleshooting complex issues, PowerShell/Bash/REST APIs/Ansible/Terraform scripting
• ITIL Foundation certification, customer-oriented, analytical, flexible mindset

Nice to have

• Nutanix experience (AOS, AHV, Prism, LCM, storage containers, snapshots, replication, performance analysis)
• Microsoft central services (AD, DNS, DHCP, file services)
