What you will do

• Develop secure, performant, and scalable custom WordPress plugins and themes for enterprise clients.
• Build custom React-based Gutenberg blocks and extend the Block Editor experience.
• Implement engineering best practices including unit, integration, and regression testing with PHPUnit and Playwright.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions and Docker environments.
• Collaborate in an Agile Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning and backlog grooming.
• Optimize application performance using Sentry, New Relic, and Core Web Vitals.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with PHP, WordPress, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Proven track record of building complex custom plugins and themes from scratch.
• Experience with enterprise hosting platforms like WordPress VIP and their coding standards.
• Ability to make architectural decisions and guide technical direction for large-scale projects.
• Proficiency with package managers (NPM, Composer) and WP-CLI/REST API.
• Must be able to operate dependably in a fully remote, global environment.
