DevOps Engineer / SRE (Infrastructure)

TL;DR

DevOps Engineer / SRE (Linux/Ansible): Ensuring the stability, performance, and security of a global fundraising platform's on-premise infrastructure with an accent on bare metal and VM management. Focus on automating infrastructure rollout, tuning high-load systems (ClickHouse, Kafka, MongoDB), and resolving complex production incidents.

Location: Remote (CET hours preferred)

Salary: $4,400 - $5,600 Gross + stock options

What you will do

• Manage on-premise infrastructure including bare metal and VMs setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Design and own automation projects end-to-end, from initial design to rollout and maintenance.
• Harden and tune system performance to ensure platform stability and security across servers, databases, and queues.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents across OS and networking layers, coordinating post-mortems.
• Participate in on-call rotations to maintain high availability.
• Integrate AI tools into daily research, troubleshooting, and development workflows.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or SRE.
• Hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu) at the OS level and below.
• Solid understanding of networking basics and ability to configure iptables.
• Proficiency with Ansible, Git, and scripting in Bash or Python.
• Proven experience in production on-call environments and incident diagnosis.
• Russian language proficiency (Russian-speaking team).

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse, MongoDB, Kafka, Redis, or Elasticsearch (monitoring, sharding, tuning).
• Knowledge of HAProxy, Nginx, and OS kernel/network stack tuning for high-load systems.
• Familiarity with Full Disk Encryption (Clevis + Tang) and tools like Teleport or HashiCorp Vault.
• Experience with VictoriaMetrics, scripted Jenkins pipelines, Bare-metal Kubernetes, Flux, or Terraform.
