Senior Backend Technical Lead (AI)

TL;DR

Senior Backend Technical Lead (Node.js/Python): Building and maintaining backend services, APIs, and deployment for a global health tech mobile platform with an accent on microservices architecture and agentic AI workflows. Focus on designing RAG systems, optimizing data pipelines for AI model inference, and leading a senior engineering team.

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Hybrid working (typically 3 days in the office per week). Relocation support is available and discussed on a case-by-case basis.

What you will do

• Lead the backend development team, providing technical direction, mentorship, and overseeing code reviews.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices-based architectures.
• Architect and implement agentic AI workflows and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems for personalized coaching.
• Oversee data pipelines and infrastructure for real-time AI model inference with low-latency integration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align requirements and delivery timelines.
• Optimize application performance, monitor reliability, and implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional backend development experience, with 3+ years in a lead role.
• Expertise in Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
• Strong experience building and managing microservices at scale.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery).
• Proficiency in relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Firestore) databases.
• English and Vietnamese communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with statically typed languages such as Java, Go, or .NET.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
