TL;DR

Principal Economy Manager (Gamedev): Leading economic strategy and systems design across multiple game studios with an accent on pricing, reward systems, and sustainable monetization. Focus on building predictive models, running simulations, and mentoring game-level designers to optimize engagement and business performance.

Location: Hybrid (Barcelona, Spain). Must be based in Spain and attend the office at least 2 days per week.

What you will do

  • Drive cross-studio economic strategy by identifying gaps and implementing tailored solutions for targeted projects.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Economy and Lead Economists to align portfolio-wide strategies and design standards.
  • Mentor and upskill game-level economy designers and Product Managers on advanced economic frameworks.
  • Build complex predictive models, run simulations, and design A/B tests to validate design decisions.
  • Act as a technical bridge between Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Engineers across different geographies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Math, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven track record of designing and optimizing complex game economies at a senior or lead level.
  • Mastery of Excel; experience with SQL, R, or Python is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to lead through influence in a matrix organization without formal reporting lines.
  • Deep understanding of Free-to-Play mechanics and sustainable monetization balance.
  • English proficiency required (application must be submitted in English).

Nice to have

  • Additional background in Monetization strategy.
  • Experience working on large-scale online, social, or multiplayer games.
