What you will do

• Build and ship full-stack features on the Rails backend and React frontend for the community platform
• Pick up tickets from Linear, scope work, and deliver production code with strong test coverage
• Participate in client sprint rituals, demos, and touchpoints, communicating technical decisions and status
• Collaborate with project engineers and client team to drive toward beta and release milestones
• Contribute to architecture discussions on real-time features, feeds via Stream.io, and scaling
• Conduct code reviews that maintain quality without delaying the team

Requirements

• 7+ years full-stack experience with substantial production work in Ruby on Rails and React
• Comfortable navigating and contributing to a meaningful Rails monolith
• Strong Postgres skills (queries, indexing, migrations) and Redis familiarity (caching, jobs)
• Production React experience (components, state, Rails integration)
• Experience with real-time features, multi-tenancy, or scale; effective communication with technical/non-technical audiences
• Self-directed, available in EST or compatible timezone (Eastern North America through Western/Central Europe)
• Comfortable working as a contractor

Nice to have

• Prior experience on creator-economy, publishing, or community products
• Background as embedded contractor in client teams
• Familiarity deploying Rails at scale (Heroku, AWS)
• Experience with third-party real-time/feed/chat services
