Data Engineer (Python)

TL;DR

Data Engineer (Python/PostgreSQL): Building and scaling data sources for a new US Gas product with an accent on data scraping, API performance, and data normalization. Focus on codifying scrapers, developing tailored analytics, and merging datasets across products.

Location: Must be based in Colombia (Remote/Hybrid)

What you will do

• Codify, structure, expand, and maintain data scrapers.
• Enrich the product and develop new features for the US Gas product.
• Build and improve monitoring tools, alerting systems, and dashboards.
• Optimize the performance of APIs used to distribute data to end users.
• Collaborate with the product team to define and execute the roadmap.
• Assist the team in creating ambitious and sustainable delivery plans.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a data-focused Software Engineer.
• Significant experience with Python and PostgreSQL (or similar data stores).
• Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with time-series data, event data, normalization, and database design.
• Comfortable with Git, code reviews, and Agile methodologies.
• English: Strong command of written and spoken English required.
• Location: Must be based in Colombia.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS (or other cloud providers) and Terraform.
• Experience with Airflow in a production environment.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with hexagonal and medallion architectures.
• Experience with monitoring solutions such as Datadog or Grafana.
