Senior Automation QA Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Automation QA Engineer (Traveltech): Design, automate, and maintain API test suites for backend services with an accent on test frameworks, CI/CD integration, and quality gates. Location: Ukraine (Hybrid) – work from home with option to use office, 8-hour workday aligned with client’s hours.

What you will do

• Design, automate, and maintain API test suites for backend services across full SDLC.
• Build and evolve test frameworks, tooling, and test data management.
• Embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable quality gates.
• Analyze test results and provide clear quality reporting and risk assessment.
• Partner with PO/BA/Engineering to ensure testable specs and shared quality ownership.

Requirements

• English: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or above.
• Experience in REST API testing and QA automation of Java REST services using Rest Assured.
• Solid Java and OOP skills, good SQL knowledge (PostgreSQL or similar).
• Experience with CI tools (GitLab, Jenkins, TeamCity) and version control (Git, SVN).
• Knowledge of testing methods across the pyramid (functional, integration, performance).
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum, DevSecOps mindset, strong collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kotlin, BDD, AWS services (S3, SQS).
• Hands-on with AI tools (Amazon Q, GitHub Copilot).
