Senior Software Engineer, Risk (Java/Fintech)

Location: Singapore; this role is based in Singapore

What you will do

• Develop and enhance payment products and transaction systems using Java and Kotlin.
• Design and develop components within a microservice framework.
• Experiment with new technologies and propose architectural improvements.
• Build and improve risk-management capabilities using graph, machine learning, and large language model technologies.
• Collaborate with senior technical teams, global teams, and customers on risk-management solutions.
• Support and mentor less-experienced software engineers.

Requirements

• More than 4 years of core Java development experience and more than 5 years of experience developing internet applications, large financial systems, or e-commerce platforms.
• More than 3 years of experience developing risk or payment platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Proficiency in Java, including multithreading, high concurrency, I/O, NIO, and network communication.
• Experience designing and developing large-scale distributed, high-load, and highly available systems, with knowledge of service optimization and data-query performance.
• Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful services, Gradle or Maven, JSON, and XML.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of risk-management strategies and fraud-detection techniques in financial or fintech industries.
• Experience with graph databases, machine-learning models, and predictive risk analytics.
• Experience with real-time streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka or Flink.
• Experience with ClickHouse, Spark, or NoSQL databases for large-scale data processing.
• Incident response, risk-mitigation planning, strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
