Software Engineer - State National

TL;DR

Software Engineer (State National): Handling client files in HP-UX Informix/Cobol environment, analyzing and diagnosing issues with inbound loan files, and managing data conversions using ETL software with an accent on application enhancements and client coordination. Focus on designing system changes, performing concurrent projects, and ensuring smooth operations in production and test environments.

Location: Bedford, TX. Hybrid: three days in the office every week. Must be authorized to work in the U.S., no sponsorship now or in the future.

What you will do

• Analyze and diagnose issues with loan files sent from clients daily.
• Assist in submission of account loan files to operations.
• Design and implement application system changes and enhancements to the loan file application using ETL.
• Perform multiple concurrent projects, set priorities, and report status in HP-UX Informix/Cobol and Linux environments.
• Communicate with clients on questions, issues, and resolutions.
• Set up new clients in test and live systems and handle insurance conversion files for new accounts.

Requirements

• College degree preferred, high school diploma required.
• At least 4 years in QA and/or programming.
• Knowledge of SQL and database/file structures.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; detail-oriented.
• US work authorization required; no visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Programming: Cobol, Informix ISQL/4GL, ETL tools.
• Operating systems and scripting: vi, HPUX/UNIX, shell scripting, Linux, .NET.
