TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer, Localization (Robotics): Designing and maintaining calibration systems for autonomous ground handling vehicles with an accent on sensor fusion, offline/online calibration stacks, and system stability. Focus on building online calibration validation for continuous airport operations and integrating multi-sensor data from LiDAR, IMU, and GNSS.

Location: Remote (Canada, USA) or Hybrid (Atlanta, NYC, South San Francisco, London, Paris, Poland)

What you will do

  • Own the end-to-end calibration stack for LiDAR, IMU, GNSS, cameras, and radar, ensuring repeatability and traceability.
  • Design and build an online calibration validation system to monitor cross-sensor consistency and detect drift during live missions.
  • Contribute to localization and mapping pipelines, including sensor integration and performance tuning.
  • Develop diagnostic tooling for calibration health logging and post-mission analysis.
  • Deploy and iterate on systems using real-world data from active autonomous operations at airports.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in robotics or autonomous vehicles with a focus on sensor calibration or state estimation.
  • Strong practical knowledge of multi-sensor calibration (intrinsic, extrinsic, and temporal).
  • Proven experience with non-linear optimization frameworks (Ceres, GTSAM, g2o) or filtering (EKF, UKF).
  • Strong C++ (C++17+) skills and working experience with Linux and ROS/ROS2.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

  • MS or PhD with a focus on calibration, localization, or state estimation.
  • Experience with factor graphs, graph-based SLAM, or tools like Kalibr, LIO-SAM, and GLIM.
  • Track record of deploying calibration or localization systems on real hardware in production environments.
  • Familiarity with OpenCV, PCL, or Open3D.
