TL;DR

Research Internship (AI/LLM): Designing and implementing novel research ideas to ship state-of-the-art large language models with an accent on base model training, RAG, safety, and finetuning. Focus on expanding the frontier of knowledge in language modelling, optimization, and multimodal systems.

Location: Remote (Canada, US, UK, Europe). Must have valid work authorization in the country of employment.

What you will do

• Conduct cutting-edge machine learning research to build and train large language models.
• Focus on research projects aimed at expanding the frontier of knowledge in language modelling, evaluation, and multimodal models.
• Disseminate research results through the production of publications, datasets, and code.
• Contribute to research initiatives that have practical applications in hirify.global's product development.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Machine Learning, NLP, or a related discipline (exceptional non-PhD candidates may be considered).
• Available for a full-time internship lasting 4-6 months.
• Must be eligible for work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire.
• Experience with large-scale distributed training strategies, data annotation, and evaluation pipelines.
• Familiarity with autoregressive sequence models, specifically Transformers.
• Proficiency in Python, C, C++, or Lua, and frameworks such as JAX, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.

Nice to have

• Demonstrated expertise through publications in top-tier ML/NLP venues.
• Proven ability to tackle analytical problems using quantitative methodologies.
• Experience applying theoretical and empirical research to real-world problem-solving.
