Location: Hybrid in Athens, Greece (1 day per week in the office)

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of new functionalities for a global ticketing platform.
• Own complex technical problems end-to-end, from design through to production.
• Drive architectural decisions and contribute to the long-term technical strategy.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability in high-traffic environments.
• Mentor engineers and promote high engineering standards through code reviews and guidance.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes to improve engineering efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering.
• Proven expertise in building and scaling large distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java (SE/EE) and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Deep understanding of REST API design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate and relational databases (MSSQL).
• Proficiency with Git, GitLab, Maven, and Nexus.

Nice to have

• Exposure to frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React).
• Experience with high-traffic, consumer-facing platforms.
