Senior Data Engineer (BigQuery)

TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer (BigQuery): Designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale ETL pipelines and cloud data solutions with an accent on Teradata and Ab Initio. Focus on migrating complex datasets to Google BigQuery and optimizing high-performance SQL queries.

Location: Hybrid (Charlotte, NC). Must be based in or be able to work from Charlotte, NC (3 days in office, 2 remote)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain complex ETL pipelines using Ab Initio.
• Perform data processing, modeling, and optimization within Teradata environments.
• Develop and optimize advanced SQL queries for large-scale enterprise datasets.
• Support and execute the migration of data to cloud platforms, specifically Google BigQuery.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Implement deployment automation and DevOps practices within cloud environments.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software or data engineering.
• 7+ years of professional experience working with Teradata.
• 5+ years of experience in Ab Initio ETL development and advanced SQL.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud computing platforms.
• 3+ years of experience with Google BigQuery.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spark, PySpark, or Python.
• 3+ years of experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud deployment automation.
• Cloud certifications in GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience working in large enterprise or heavily regulated environments.
• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
