Salary: $188,000 – $275,000

What you will do

• Own and develop the open-source W&B SDK, CLI, and associated developer workflows.
• Build performance-sensitive runtime systems for capturing and buffering experiment data across local and cloud environments.
• Optimize the end-to-end experiment data path to ensure correctness and resilience.
• Develop tooling and observability systems to diagnose issues and improve the overall user experience.
• Set technical direction and partner with backend, platform, and product teams.
• Mentor other engineers and interact directly with users to solve real-world ML development pains.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience (10+ typically for Staff level).
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or Go for building and operating production systems.
• Proven track record of designing non-trivial systems with high reliability and performance.
• Experience building reliable pipelines, distributed systems, or networked services.
• Must be based in the USA.
• Must be a U.S. person or eligible to access export controlled information per U.S. Government regulations.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with ML workflows, model training, or research tooling.
• Experience with distributed systems or large-scale training environments.
• Background in building CLIs or local-first developer tools.
• Prior work on widely adopted open-source libraries, SDKs, or developer platforms.
