What you will do

• Suggest creative story ideas and treatments daily for Newsday and other hirify.global platforms.
• Secure participation from key guests to enhance stories.
• Engage World Service audiences, prioritizing younger listeners and women.
• Write engaging scripts in English for broadcast, digital content, and hirify.global News online.
• Create digital assets with audio, video, or stills and share via social media.
• Collaborate with teams in Nairobi and London for maximum output impact.

Requirements

• Based in Nairobi or willing to relocate to Kenya (work-from-office, shift work including early mornings).
• Substantial knowledge of international news and current affairs, especially relevant to African audiences.
• Experience in live daily news environment, including breaking news.
• Proven journalism skills: identifying original stories, imaginative storytelling, high-quality broadcast and digital writing.
• Ability to create and distribute digital content via social media.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration across programmes and departments.
