What you will do

• Lead technical direction and architecture decisions for the mobile platform, specifically focusing on React Native optimization.
• Develop and optimize foundational mobile libraries and infrastructure for iOS and Android apps.
• Solve complex performance issues related to Time-to-Interactive (TTI), memory usage, and crash reduction.
• Drive React Native infrastructure initiatives and version upgrades to keep the platform modern.
• Architect scalable mobile solutions using TypeScript/JavaScript and native Swift/Kotlin for performance-critical paths.
• Mentor engineers and establish high-level engineering standards across the mobile organization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer on large-scale cross-platform projects.
• 1+ years of experience with production React Native applications at scale or foundational RN libraries.
• Proven ability to write maintainable code and establish engineering best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across the entire mobile stack.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and guiding other engineers.
• Must be based in or relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Nice to have

• Native mobile development experience with Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java.
• Experience with mobile performance profiling and optimization tools.
• Background in mobile build and release processes.
• Active contributions to the React or React Native communities.
• Experience optimizing apps for international markets or varying network conditions.
