What you will do

• Operate production Apache Pulsar, Postgres/Aurora, Elasticache/Valkey, and OpenSearch clusters.
• Implement safe, automated patterns for upgrades and migrations (blue-green, rolling deployments) to maintain uptime SLOs.
• Build and evolve Terraform/IaC modules and "golden path" tooling for engineering teams.
• Partner with backend engineers to implement rate limiting, database caching, and CDC pipelines.
• Participate in the on-call rotation, managing incident response and driving durable improvements in automation.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Infrastructure, SRE, or Platform engineer.
• Hands-on experience operating AWS production infrastructure, specifically managed databases, distributed queues, or search stores.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language; Python, Golang, or Java is a plus.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience debugging complex distributed systems and tracking performance bottlenecks.
• Must be based in Lisbon, Portugal for hybrid work.
