Salary: $170,000 - $210,000

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of core backend services and data platform components using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Establish and evolve platform architecture, design patterns, and engineering standards.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable safe, repeatable, and observable deployments.
• Partner with governance and analytics teams to support Lakehouse-style architectures and ELT pipelines.
• Hire, mentor, and manage engineers as the team grows.
• Conduct code and design reviews, providing technical guidance to the organization.

Requirements

• Deep foundation in software engineering, including OOP, design patterns, and API/service design.
• Solid understanding of data engineering concepts: Lakehouse architectures, ELT pipelines, metadata, and lineage.
• Experience building modular or microservice-based systems.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Must be based in the USA (implied by 401k and US legal requirements)

Nice to have

• Experience with ML platforms or services such as Databricks or AWS Bedrock.
• Familiarity with analytics and BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Prior experience in media, streaming, or large-scale enterprise environments.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native platforms.
