Fire Surveyor

TL;DR

Fire Surveyor (Fire Protection): Undertake on-site fire inspections and surveys during construction and operational phases, including external wall, fire stopping, compartmentation, and fire door assessments with an accent on compliance with Irish fire safety standards. What you will do

• Carry out active and passive fire protection systems surveys and produce technical reports.
• Assess compliance with Irish fire safety legislation like Technical Guidance Document B, BS 9991, and related standards.
• Attend construction sites to inspect compliance with approved fire safety designs and highlight issues.
• Review contractor responses to raised items until resolution.
• Conduct external façade assessments, fire compartmentation oversight, and visual fire door surveys.
• Manage client base, provide CPD presentations, and stay updated on industry guidance.

Requirements

• Full Irish driving licence and access to own vehicle required.
• Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent site-based experience.
• Basic understanding of fire safety design, guidance, construction methods, and passive fire protection products.
• Ability to author technical reports using digital software and Microsoft Word.
• Capacity to work independently, manage workload, and develop skills within the team.
• Travel to client sites regularly, including overnight stays.

Nice to have

• Experience with intrusive external wall surveys on various building types.
• Fire compartmentation surveys and advising on fire stopping installations.
• Basic knowledge of fire risk assessment process.
