ML/AI Tech Lead (Search)

TL;DR

ML/AI Tech Lead (Search): Improving core search algorithms and advancing the system’s understanding of user queries with an accent on search relevance and AI-driven features. Focus on integrating modern LLMs into production-grade solutions and managing a backend team of developers.

Location: Lisbon, Portugal (Office-first). Limited remote work allowed (up to 52 days per year). Relocation support is available.

What you will do

• Improve core search algorithms and increase the relevance of search results.
• Design and develop new AI-driven features from prototyping to production-grade solutions.
• Write production code capable of handling high loads.
• Participate in new feature and product development discussions.
• Manage and mentor a backend team of 3-5 developers.

Requirements

• Strong algorithmic skills and knowledge of fundamental data structures.
• Experience developing and debugging distributed, high-load applications.
• End-to-end ML development experience, including linear models, GBDT, and DNN.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Scala.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to Lisbon, Portugal.

Nice to have

• Experience in developing recommendation or search systems.
• Experience training neural network models.
• Experience working with Spark, Cassandra, Mongo, and Kafka.
• Knowledge of Go.
