Backend Engineer (.NET)

TL;DR

Backend Engineer (.NET): Developing and scaling one of Switzerland's largest real estate platforms with an accent on cloud-native migration and API design. Focus on rewriting legacy .NET Framework applications to .NET 10 and implementing microservices using Azure and Kubernetes.

Location: Remote (Global). Must be within +/- 2 hours of Switzerland time (GMT+2)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using .NET Core / ASP.NET.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices.
• Manage application data using SQL Server and Azure Cosmos DB.
• Improve search functionality and ranking using Elasticsearch.
• Deploy and operate applications using Docker and Kubernetes on Azure.
• Lead the migration and rewrite of legacy .NET Framework apps to modern .NET 10.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Core / ASP.NET.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Azure.
• Fluent English.
• Maximum time-zone difference of +/- 2 hours from Switzerland (GMT+2).

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch ranking and search optimization.
• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Experience building data ingestion pipelines.
