Mainframe Console Operator

What you will do

• Monitor mainframe and distributed systems from the central operations console to maintain availability and stability.
• Respond to system alerts within defined response times and escalate incidents according to established procedures.
• Track system availability, incidents, and operational events, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation.
• Operate monitoring environments using z/OS Console, monitoring platforms, Tandem, and Unisys systems.
• Follow operational runbooks and collaborate with higher-level support teams when required.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience with IT infrastructure and system monitoring concepts.
• Willingness to learn mainframe operations and console tools, including z/OS and Omegamon.
• Ability to monitor alerts, follow procedures, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail in operational environments.
• Basic English proficiency.
• High school diploma or technical degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools or IT operations environments.
