Senior Product Engineer (Backend)

What you will do

• Own problems end-to-end: from business needs to design, implementation, shipping, and production monitoring.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and engineers to drive booking experience improvements.
• Build backend services with focus on conversion metrics, clean code, and high-quality user experiences.
• Mentor engineers, lead technical decisions, and foster learning through code reviews.
• Instrument services for observability and champion automated testing practices.
• Use AI tools daily for code generation, debugging, refactoring, and workflow acceleration.

Requirements

• 7+ years as software engineer with strong backend track record (Python/Django preferred; Java, Go, C#, Kotlin welcome).
• Technical leadership: mentoring, architectural decisions, design reviews.
• Solid relational databases knowledge (schema, optimization, migrations).
• Observability: logging, metrics, tracing, alerting.
• Strong testing discipline: unit, integration, contract tests.
• AI-augmented engineering: active use of tools like Copilot/Claude for daily work.
• Comfortable with React/TypeScript frontend to collaborate.
• Good written/spoken English.

Nice to have

• React/React Native experience.
• Distributed systems: Celery/RabbitMQ, Redis/Memcached, event-driven.
• Search: Elasticsearch.
• REST APIs at scale (Django REST Framework).
• CI/CD, IaC.
• Advanced AI workflows.
