What you will do

• Work with Team Leader, country teams, and senior staff to author high-level learning products like synthesis reports, insight briefs, and case studies.
• Synthesize complex MSD interventions, evidence, and results into clear insights and system-level lessons.
• Articulate successes, failures, and reasons, framing findings for donors, governments, investors, and private sector.
• Contribute across sectors including agriculture, tourism, financial services, renewable energy, transport, and logistics.

Requirements

• Exceptional writing and editorial capability for publication-ready outputs to technical and non-technical senior audiences.
• Deep senior-level experience in Market Systems Development or comparable private sector programs in low-income or emerging economies.
• Advanced analytical and synthesis skills to interrogate evidence and extract robust lessons.
• Strategic framing skills relevant to donor priorities, government agendas, and private sector incentives.
• Intellectual rigour, precision, clarity, attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal direction under tight timelines.

Nice to have

• Strong understanding of inclusive MSD, including GEDSI integration.
• Experience writing for DFAT or similar donor audiences.
• Experience in the Indo-Pacific region.
• Background in policy writing, economics, business journalism, or thought leadership.
