Staff Engineer (Observability)

Staff Engineer (Observability): Own the technical vision and strategy for hirify.global's observability ecosystem across a massive microservices architecture with an accent on metrics, logging, distributed tracing, and APM. Focus on defining company-wide standards for telemetry, SLAs, SLOs, alerting, guiding team roadmaps, and leading large-scale technical migrations.

Location: Hybrid in Vilnius or Kaunas, Lithuania (2 days in office recommended but not enforced)

Salary: €8,000–€11,700 gross per month

What you will do

• Own the technical vision and strategy for observability (metrics, logging, tracing, APM) in a large-scale microservices platform.
• Define company-wide standards for telemetry, SLAs, SLOs, and alerting for hirify.global Marketplace.
• Guide roadmaps for Observability teams to align with platform goals.
• Lead improvements in engineering practices to enable easy adoption of observability best practices.
• Collaborate with platform, infrastructure teams, and other Staff Engineers on major initiatives.
• Evaluate vendor tools vs. in-house solutions and oversee technical migrations.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as architect or Staff Engineer delivering cross-team observability or infrastructure initiatives at scale.
• Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture, monitoring distributed systems, async/event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on with modern observability stacks (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog, Jaeger).
• Expertise in incident response, capacity planning, resilient systems.
• Proven ability to design technical strategies and drive adoption across large engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills for complex topics and building consensus.
